Service de livraison – emprunt par courrier
Borrow-by-Mail is a service available to anyone who lives in the Digby, Yarmouth or Shelburne counties who has trouble getting to a library branch.
Borrow-by-Mail allows users to borrow books and materials through the mail. The library mails your items to your home address. They come with a postage-paid return label. This means you do not need to pay to return the package. Borrow-by-Mail members have a four-week loan period. This gives the items time to get to where they are going.
Join and borrow online
If you are not a library member click here to obtenir une carte de bibliothèque. Your library card will be mailed to you within 3 business days. Select the library branch closest to you as your library branch. You must provide a mailing address to use Borrow-by-Mail services.
You can select your own materials online through our library catalogue. Use your library card and PIN to log in to your online account. Select Borrow-by-Mail as your pickup location.
Join and borrow over the phone
If you don’t have the internet, you can register for a library card over the phone. Staff can also help you select materials over the phone. Call library headquarters at 902-742-2486 ext. 229 or 866-742-2486 ext. 229 toll-free. Staff can help you Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.

Les prêts-entre-bibliothèques sont un service que la Western Counties Regional Library offre à ses usagers en collaboration avec d’autres bibliothèques de prêt.
Pour demander d’emprunter un article qui ne se trouve pas dans notre catalogue par l’entremise d’un prêt-entre-bibliothèques, veuillez contacter votre succursale locale.
La période de prêt pour les prêts-entre-bibliothèques est établie par la bibliothèque de prêt (et pourrait être de moins de 4 semaines). Certaines bibliothèques pourraient ne pas prêter des articles nouveaux ou populaires et pourraient facturer le service de prêt-entre-bibliothèques. Une fois approuvés, les frais de prêt-entre-bibliothèques devront être assumés par l’usager de la bibliothèque. Il pourrait aussi y avoir des frais pour les photocopies. Some libraries may not loan new or popular items and may charge for interlibrary loan services. Upon approval, any interlibrary loan fees will be passed on to the library patron. There may be charges for photocopies.
Les articles d’un prêt-entre-bibliothèques ne peuvent pas être renouvelés dans votre compte de bibliothèque. Pour renouveler un prêt-entre-bibliothèques, veuillez envoyer un courriel au service de prêt-entre-bibliothèques ou communiquer avec votre succursale locale au moins une semaine avant la date d’échéance de l’article. Si vous avez des prêts-entre-bibliothèques en retard ou si votre compte n’est pas en règle, les autres prêts-entre-bibliothèques que vous demandez ne seront peut-être pas traités jusqu’à ce que votre compte soit soldé.

Impression mobile
The library offers Princh mobile printing service. Each branch has its own six digit printer ID code through which documents can be sent for printing.

Nos services pour personnes incapables de lire les imprimés sont pour toutes personnes incapables de lire ou ayant des difficultés à lire les documents imprimés ordinaires à cause d’une déficience visuelle, physique ou perceptuelle.
Quels sont les articles spéciaux disponibles à la Western Counties Regional Library ?
In addition to the Large Print books, Audiobooks, and eBooks available to all users from our regular collection, persons with print disabilities can register with the library to receive free access to an expanded collection of accessible books in various formats through our partners, Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA) et National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS). Library branch clerks can put you in contact with our Headquarters staff to assist you in registering and receiving this service.

Staff can select materials for you if you can’t browse our collection yourself. Staff will work with you to learn what types of items you like. They will select titles for you on an ongoing basis. You can get these items by mail, or pick them up at your local library branch.
