About the Club

The Summer Reading Club is an annual reading challenge for people of all ages and abilities.

This year’s theme is “Dive In!” and focuses on oceans, rivers, and underwater life. The program runs from June 13 to August
22, 2026. Our prize draws will take place in early September.

To get started, visit your local library branch and ask our staff to sign you up!

Children

The TD Summer Reading Club is a joint initiative between TD Bank Group, Library and Archives Canada, and the Toronto Public Library.

The age range of a child is considered from birth to grade 5. Children in grade 6 can join the children or teens reading club. Each child receives a reading logbook that they can fill up according to their own reading abilities. Every completed booklet earns a child an entry into our prize draw!

You can participate online but need to register at the library to be eligible for our prize draws. For more information on online participation, go to the TD Summer Reading Club website.

This year we have an early-bird prize of two Nova Scotia Museum passes! Every child who registers in the Summer Reading Club from June 13 to June 27 will be entered in the draw!

Teens and Adults

The teen and adult Summer Reading Clubs are completely ran by Western Counties Regional Library. We make the booklets and promotional materials for them. The age range of a teen is considered someone in grade 6 to grade 12 (or 12 to 18 years old). An adult is considered anyone 18 years old or older. Reading should be done at the teen or adults reading level. To enter the prize draw participants must complete 25 hours of reading.
