Create with Pride: Gesture Drawing

De-stress with art and colouring for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks! You must be 14+ to attend, allies are welcome. Materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own! We’ll have gesture drawing practice available, but feel free to bring any arts and crafts you are working on. You can also come just to hang out, colour, or read.

Free Seed Library

The library will be bring back it's free seed library just in time for seed starting season! Visit any of our 10 branches to find a selection of seeds to choose from. After growing, give seed saving a try and donate them back to the library. Seed donations are encouraged. Envelopes are available to place seeds in and label.

Exploring Cultural Roots Through Music: Julia Tynes

Join award-winning African Nova Scotian singer-songwriter Julia Tynes for an interactive music experience full of singing, learning, and joyful expression. With her signature energy and soulful vocals, Julia leads children and families on a musical journey. Listen to classics like “Rockin’ Robin,” kid-friendly Motown hits, and today’s pop anthems by artists like Taylor Swift. Participants can clap along, move their bodies, and sing out loud as they explore melody, groove, and performance. This program introduces audiences to the rich cultural roots of pop through soul, jazz, and rock and roll. It celebrates the lasting contributions of Black artists throughout history. Julia also shares a few of her own original songs and stories, to empower everyone to use their voices and build confidence through music. Whether you’re a toddler, a tween, or just young at heart, come ready to sing, dance, and shine! This program is in partnership with the Province of Nova Scotia's Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage.

Ashley is a cybersecurity professional with over four years of experience. She works to help organizations understand and manage digital risks.

Exhibit: A Legacy of Textiles

Come see handmade creations made by members of the Weymouth Makers group. They feature a variety of textile techniques. This exhibit celebrates craftsmanship, tradition, and the passing of skills through generations. This exhibit carries more than just fibres. It carries stories, memory, and culture. It connects to both the past and the present. This exhibit is on display during open hours from July 2 to August 29, 2026.
