Library Fundraising
The Board recognizes that the library must fundraise to meet its annual operating budget. It is expected that staff will promote Board-approved fundraising as part of their jobs.
Branch staff may initiate local fundraising campaigns for the benefit of their local branch. Their Branch Manager must approve the timing of these campaigns, and the impact on regional fundraising initiatives should be taken into account prior to their approval.
Fundraising for Other Organizations
The Board will not solicit donations on behalf of any organization other than Western Counties Regional Library, its charitable association and Friends of the Library groups, and will not accept donations for any organization other than Western Counties Regional Library, Western Counties Regional Library Charitable Association, its affiliated building associations, and Friends of the Library groups. The restriction includes collection jars and other fundraising promotions for charitable purposes.
