Tea Growing Basics and Tea Tasting

clear glass up of tea with herbal sprig on the side

Join Matthew Roy of Coastal Grove Farm to learn about growing tea, Camellia sinensis, in Nova Scotia. Explore the development of Camellia sinensis in Upper Port La Tour. Learn how to cultivate a tea plant and process leaves into the beverage we enjoy. He will discuss the development of herbal tea blends. A tasting of Nova Scotia-grown organic black tea will complete the presentation. Coastal Grove Farm is the only certified organic tea grower in Canada. This program is possible thanks to a food literacy grant from Nova Scotia Provincial Library.
