More Than a Password: Protecting Yourself With Two-Factor Authentication

A man using two-factor authentication. He enters a linked passcode on his smartphone so he can access an account on his laptop.

As online threats increase, relying solely on a password is no longer safe. This session covers the “what, why, and how” of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). We will explore how single-factor authentication (just a password) to protect yourself online might not be enough. We will also cover the common methods of 2FA, including:

  • Mobile apps
  • Phone notifications
  • TOTP (Time-based One-Time Passwords)
  • Hardware security keys
