Barrington Municipal Library’s hours are changing starting Tuesday, March 7, 2023. The new library open hours will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:30 to 8 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Changes are coming to the library’s digital services
In early 2023, library users will have to download eBooks, audiobooks and magazines from Western Counties Regional Library’s digital library with the Libby app. OverDrive is shelving its OverDrive app.
Library wraps up successful Adopt-A-Book campaign
People showed their love of Western Counties Regional Library by adopting 974 books during the 2022 Adopt-A-Book campaign.
The Adopt-A-Book campaign, which ran from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, crushed its goal of having 750 new books adopted by the public to put on library shelves.

Western Counties Regional Library is making it easier for people to know when their book or movie is ready for pick up from their nearest library branch. Through its Same Page catalogue as of Nov. 21, library users can receive text/SMS alerts straight to their mobile device.
Latest technology arrives for those with print disabilities
Western Counties Regional Library has acquired the latest reader technology, providing better support and services for those with print disabilities. As of Tuesday, July 26, the Victor Stratus DAISY readers can be borrowed by any library user who self-identifies as having a print disability. DAISY readers will read a variety of formats such as .txt, ePub, .html, Mp3 and DAISY.
