Status of Library Service
All 10 branches of Western Counties Regional Library are open to public.
All Nova Scotia Health COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
a) Face masks are encouraged, and free masks are available for anyone who wants one.
b) Please be mindful of those around you and respect their personal space.
c) Stay home if you are sick or feeling unwell. We offer borrow-by-mail and digital services. We have helpful staff a phone call or e-mail away.
d) Food and covered beverages will be allowed in the library, but not in library programs.
Bookings can be made for the library’s community rooms at our Barrington, Digby, Meteghan (Clare), Pubnico, Shelburne, Weymouth and Yarmouth branch libraries.

- You can return all items to your branch by using the book drops.
- You can access library wi-fi from outside the branches (please, practice social distancing).
- Loan periods are 3 weeks for all items.
- There are no longer fines for overdue materials.
- You can pick up your holds at the branch.
- The library is accepting book donations.
In-Person Programming
Western Counties Regional Library’s in-person programming returned March 1, 2022.
Food and beverages will not be allowed as part of library programs.
Our libraries offer borrow-by-mail, grab-&-go kits and a variety of online programs and services.
Virtual Library Programs
We’re still here for you at home.
The library’s virtual programs have been a great success. We plan to continue offering a range of virtual programs for all age groups.

For those not comfortable visiting a library branch, the library will continue to offer borrow-by-mail.
