StoryWalks will be appearing in parks and along trails in the Tri-Counties this summer as part of the library’s Summer Reading Club experience.
“People can visit their local library, trail, or park and read a book at the same time,” says Shannon Raynard, Training and Development Manager at the library and organizer of the program.
This year, there are two books, I Am Scary by Elise Gravel and Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox by Danielle Daniel, featured in the StoryWalks with bilingual versions in Clare and Pubnico.
“We have received more StoryWalks this year, allowing us to have as many as eight up at one time,” Raynard says.
The I Am Scary StoryWalk will be around the green space surrounding McKay Memorial Library in Shelburne from June 14 to July 20, in the courtyard at Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Library in Yarmouth from June 13 to July 20 and along The Big Meadow Bog Trail in Westport from June 21 to July 19.
The Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox StoryWalk will be along the sidewalk in front of Isaiah W. Wilson Memorial Library in Digby from June 14 to July 23, around the duck pond fence in front of Barrington Municipal Library in Barrington Passage from June 14 to July 20, along the boardwalk behind Clark’s Harbour Library from June 15 to July 20, and in Meteghan Family Park from June 15 to July 27.
In late July, these StoryWalks will switch up with Pubnico hosting both sets from late July/early August to early September.
