Mid-Week Break: Newfoundland Ponies
In the early 1900s, there were upwards of 10,000 ponies in Newfoundland. They played a major role in building communities. But by the mid 1980s the number of ponies had dropped to 4,000. In 1992 there were only 500, then the pony population dwindled 60. Join Sandra Phinney as she explains what happened and how the Newfoundland Pony Society has changed this. This presentation is available via Zoom and in-person. To receive the Zoom link, contact the library by 5 p.m. on April 11.
