Barrington Municipal Library’s hours are changing starting Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
The new library open hours will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:30 to 8 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“The library will now be open 33 hours a week, an increase from the old hours,” says Western Counties Regional Library Executive Director Erin Comeau. “We hope this new schedule works better to serve people using the Barrington library.”
The changes in library hours are in response to ongoing operational challenges and trends in library usage.
“We reviewed library usage over the last six months and noticed that library activity has declined significantly during the evening hours,” Comeau says. “While we continue to offer evening hours two evenings a week, we hope that this slight change to the open hours overcomes those challenges and allows people to make greater use of the library and its services.”
